The training wheels are off!

Anna has been dying to learn to ride her bike with no training wheels. Travis finally took her out last night. He was afraid to let her go on the pavement so they started on the golf course. It was a good idea. By the end of the night she was riding her bike down our street. No skinned knees or elbows involved!

Alivia had tons of fun! She thought she was learning to ride too even though she's been riding her bike with training wheels for a long time now. Alivia was the one to come in crying with a hurt elbow from tipping over on her bike. Fortunately hot chocolate with whipped cream can take away the hurt from even the worst of scrapes!
I'm learning that so many things as your kids are growing up don't go as you'd imagined they would. This night was an exception. A precious memory!

The next day Anna wanted to go out and ride some more. Unfortunately Travis was at work and I guess I don't have the same teaching ability he does. She didn't want ANY help and I couldn't even look at her without getting snapped at. We went inside with me frustrated and her in tears. Oh well, I'll leave the bike riding lessons to Travis!

Jeff & Lisa gave us a keyboard they were going to get rid of when they move. The girls love it! We put it up in the playroom where it can't be heard downstairs--not that they don't make beautiful music!

THE EGGS!

It seems like this is the first year that Alivia can join into everything and we can actually do things as a family. Its fun!

THE HUNT!!!

The girls were EXCITED about the Easter egg hunt at college church they were both ready to go about an hour ahead of time. They picked out matching sweats outfits that matched their baskets. They were very proud of themselves. Blake was also impressed. He said they looked like "an old couple ready to go to the gym together".

Anna collected lots of eggs!

Alivia didn't have as much luck. There was some confusion at the start and she only ended up with 1 egg. She was a little bewildered, then disappointed and then there were tears.

Anna decided(with a little help from Dad) to hide some of her eggs behind a tree for Alivia to find. Alivia was so excited. Anna was very happy with herself for being so generous and I was proud of her too. It was a fun day!

The girls loved the Easter cards and stickers you sent. They carefully placed them on paper & then colored around them. They were both very proud of their finished works so I posted them on their art blogs. But more importantly it bought me about 20 minutes to get the Easter eggs ready to dye without them bugging me!

The girls spent quite a while taking care of their pet horse while I was jogging on the treadmill. It was fun to see them using their imaginations!

Easter presents from Grandma & pa Tindall

The girls were soooo excited to open their presents. I made them wait 2 whole days after they arrived to open them!

You can't beat Pez dispensers!

The girls also got new Easter dresses from Grandma and Grandpa. They were a blessing since I wasn't planning to buy them this year. The dresses are beautiful! They look like little pink fairies in them. Its fun that the girls are starting to comprehend the real meaning of Easter this year. They have lots of questions. We do our best to answer them but I'm also very thankful for their Sunday School & Bible Buddies teachers. We get to hear a lot about what they've been taught.

10 Things I Remember From High School

1. Baggy jeans
2. Bangs
3. Pizza Hut breadsticks dipped in ranch/yogurt cones at McDonald's
4. Car accident with Danny
5. Feeling insecure & self conscious
6. "Eye Of The Tiger" in pregame warmups -sports in general
7. Fighting with my sister in our tiny bathroom/fighting with my sister over who had to go wipe snow off the car in the morning.(we really did become friends eventually)
8. AAU Basketball with Gina (getting a shot blocked into the bleachers in Chattanooga,TN, I'm sure the girl went on to play in the WNBA! Oh thats right they didn't have that back then.)
9. Waiting for boobs. They never came! ;0)
10. Getting up really early. (I had to fix my hair ya know) My Dad was always in the living room doing devotions.
11. Looking up to my big brother
12. The school -the gym, the locker room, Government with Mr. Byrd :0(
13. Emotions!

I have lots of memories of highschool and jr high. Its such a strange time. I've been thinking about Anna & Alivia lately. I know they are only 5.5 and 4 but I worry about what school will be like for them. I hope that I can still remember what it was like for me and not be too sheltering --& trust that the Lord is guiding them. Its hard to imagine letting go that much in the next 7 or 8 years.

Sand Castles in the Sunshine!
Its a beautiful day today. Alivia and Travis played outside for a long time. Even though it looks like Alivia is frowning she really just couldn't look into the sun.
